You are making a commitment to yourself to get some writing done. Take it seriously and defend it fiercely.
Today is the fifth Tuesday of the month, which means that my answer to this heartfelt letter is available exclusively to my Patreon patrons.
In celebration, I'm unlocking all my fifth Tuesday posts through November 1. Share them with your friends now while you can!
For just this week, I'm unlocking one of my $4 patron craft posts for EVERYONE to see.
Can we get to 90 patrons or $240/month?
With regard to writing, it sounds like you have a process that isn't working for you. That's not something wrong with you or with your process; it's a mismatch, like someone putting on a shoe that's much too large for them.
Writing a series means playing a long game, investing considerable time and effort up front in hopes of considerable returns down the road.
Think about how you can invite yourself to write and make writing feel like the thing you most want to be doing right now.
We often have to confront the undeniable fact that writing takes time away from other things that we, or other people, think we should be doing.
Identify scenarios in which you're likely to need information, and then determine both what you'll look for and where you're inclined to look for it.
